Cuffs & Kink
Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / All Romance / Changeling Press -- EXCERPT: “I’ll drop you by your parents’ home, and you can arrange to get your car later.” “I don’t want to go there.” I stopped at a four-way intersection and looked at her. “Then where do you want to go?” “Can we just drive around for a bit?” Holy hell. She was trying to kill me. Or get me fired, because I was pretty sure the police chief wouldn’t be too pleased to find me balls deep inside Josie Wright on the side of the road, and if she stayed in this car much longer, that was what would happen. “Josie, I don’t think that’s a good idea.” She blinked at me innocently before her gaze dropped to my lap, and my very hard cock. Her eyes dilated and her lips parted. The way she licked her lips was enough to make my dick jerk, and I knew I had to get her out of the car and away from me as fast as possible. Either that or I was going to be very, very bad. “Josie.” My tone came out strangled as she continued to stare. Her cheeks flushed, and her eyes cut toward the window. I could tell she was intrigued, yet her innocence kept her from saying what was on her mind. And hell if that didn’t just turn me on even more. I’d been with more women than I could count, but damn if she didn’t make me harder than I’d ever been before. But Josie wasn’t a “right now” kind of woman. She was the forever kind. I might have been thirty-two, but I wasn’t ready for the picket fence, golden retriever in the yard, and two point five kids just yet. No, whoever plucked her cherry was going to be a lucky bastard, but I’d be willing to bet it would be her husband.

CUFFS & KINK CHARACTER INTERVIEW
What’s it like being a police officer in a small town? TY: It’s pretty quiet most days. I probably do more traffic stops and answer domestic dispute calls than anything else. I’m not saying we never have something really had happen like a guy beating his girlfriend nearly to death, a kidnapping, or even murder, but it doesn’t happen as often. Most people in our town know each other and we’re a pretty friendly bunch. Do you ever wish you would have done something different with your life? TY: Not really. I went to college for two years before I entered the police academy. Book learning has its place, but it just wasn’t for me. I like that I can make a difference in my community. Sure, there are adrenaline junkies who crave action and get off on carrying a gun around, but for me it’s more about making sure my sleepy little town stays safe. I like that kids play in the street without fear. Women can go out late at night and don’t have to worry as much about being robbed, raped, or abducted. I think I live in a pretty special place, and I intend to make sure it stays that way. I hear you’re something of a ladies man. Care to elaborate? TY: <grin> Yeah, I’ve had my fair share of women. Quite a few are badge bunnies and chase any guy in the department. Then there are those who just love a man in uniform – any kind of uniform. I’ve never really discriminated. One woman’s legs open just as easy as another’s, and I’m sure that makes me an asshole in your eyes, but it’s just the way it is. Oh, really. So there’s no one out there who would ever change your mind about being a player? TY: I’m sure one day I’ll meet my match, but for now I’m just having fun. I’ve seen what a great relationship looks like, and one day I may want that. For the foreseeable future, I’ll continue to avoid the marriage noose. Even if the lady in question is the reverend’s daughter? TY: *shifts uncomfortably* Josie is a nice girl. A sweet girl. She’s the kind you take home to your mama and marry, raise a family with. Some guy, a lot closer to her age, will make her a great husband I’m sure. Rumor has it that you know Josie a little better than you’re admitting. Now that you’ve tasted the forbidden fruit, there’s no chance you’ll go back for more? TY: The best thing I can do for Josie is keep my distance. I’m not the kind of guy she needs in her life. But the look in your eyes says you want to be. TY: *silence* Hmm. It seems I’ve struck a nerve with that one. Well, Ty, thank you for joining me today. I hope you’re able to pull your head out of your ass and go after what you really want. That picket fence and 2.5 kids with a Golden Retriever in the yard really isn’t as bad as you seem to think. Maybe it’s time you thought long and hard about your future, and Josie’s. EXCERPT “I want this, Ty. I want you,” I told him, and I meant every word. I’d never been tempted before now, but standing here in his house with him so near, I knew without a doubt that I wanted him to be the one to claim my virginity. Ty swung me into his arms and carried me down the hall to the bedroom. He kicked open the door and set me on the edge of the bed as he made quick work of shedding his uniform. I watched, hungry and yearning for things I’d only ever read about, as each item of clothing hit the floor. My mouth ran dry at the sight of his impressive cock, hard and ready. I had nothing to compare him to, but he seemed rather large, and I wondered if he was going to fit. Compared to his height of six foot three, I was rather small at barely five feet tall. Our size difference hadn’t mattered to me, but the monster that seemed eager to get inside of me did worry me a bit. “I won’t lie,” Ty said. “I’ve heard it hurts the first time, and I’m not exactly small. Not as huge as some, but I have a good eight inches here that I’m hoping will make you scream in pleasure.” “Just… go slow.” He nodded. I stood and awkwardly stripped out of my clothes, my cheeks burning. No one had ever seen me naked before except my mother and my doctor. I wasn’t exactly blessed when it came to boobs, but I hoped what I had was adequate. As hard as he was, he didn’t seem to mind my smaller curves. I’d seen the women he usually dated -- not that this was a date -- and they looked like goddesses with curves that Aphrodite would envy. “Have you ever touched yourself?” he asked. My cheeks flamed hotter, and I shook my head. I’d thought about it, plenty of times, but our walls at home were thin and I’d worried about making any noises my parents might hear. “I’m going to touch you, Josie, and I want you to tell me if you don’t like something. Okay? I want you to enjoy this as much as you can. If something doesn’t feel right or hurts, you speak up.” “O-okay.” Ty came closer, his hands cupping my shoulders and sliding down my arms. Goosebumps rose along my skin from his touch. He knelt in front of me, putting him at eye level with me. His hands came up my sides, skimming over my ribs, to cup my breasts. They were barely a handful, but the look in his eyes said he didn’t mind. If anything he seemed to like exploring my body, and I couldn’t wait for him to do more.
I’m often asked if I have a playlist while I’m writing. The answer is sometimes. I tend to alternate between listening to music or listening to movies. So, I have a playlist and a movie list for CUFFS & KINK.
PLAYLIST Hello by Adele Love Shack by B-52s I am Invincible by Cassadee Pope All Shook UP by Elvis Presley The Monster by Eminem House of the Rising Sun by Five Finger Death Punch Whistle by Flo Rida Ring of Fire by Home Free When Will I Be Loved by Linda Ronstadt Marines’ Hymn by Madison Rising Funhouse by P!nk Stand by REM Like Suicide by Seether Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Deadman MOVIE/TV LIST Beetlejuice Corpse Bride Supernatural reruns Jurassic World Sixteen Candles When did you first know you wanted to be a writer? I don’t know that there was ever one clear moment when I decided I wanted to be a writer. In school, I always loved writing assignments and I started working on my first book in ninth grade. That story was never finished, and will definitely never see the light of day, but writing seemed to set me free. It was until my late twenties that I managed to finish writing a book. Why do you write New Adult romance? I discovered the New Adult genre before it was called that, and I always enjoyed reading the stories about younger heroines. It gave me a chance to relive my youth, I suppose, without the hassle of all those life lessons I had to learn the hard way. It wasn’t until this summer that I decided to try to write one. Before that, I wrote adult romances under another name, but they were much tamer than Grease Monkey and Cuffs & Kink. I worried that my readers wouldn’t appreciate my new style of writing, so Harley Wylde was created. How often do you write? My husband works from 7pm-7am on a rotating schedule, so I’ve had to adapt a bit. During the day, I’ve found there are too many distractions, and my kids are too active until bedtime (around 9pm). My writing is done on the nights my husband works, but after the kids are asleep. Some weeks that means I write only two nights a week, and other times that means I write as many as five nights a week. On rare occasions, he’ll take the kids out somewhere on his days off and I get a little extra writing time then. Do you write full-time? Yes. I had a full-time job until 2010. I had been out on medical leave and when I called to see about going back, I was told my services were no longer needed. There was some panic on my part, and I hunted for another job heavily until summer 2011, when my husband told me I already had a job – I was a writer. Not having a “day job” has cut my income a lot, but I think things have worked out for the best. I love being home with my family and while I still stress about bills, it’s not the same as the stress I had from my job. I love writing and hope I get to keep at it for years to come. Do you ever get writer’s block? Definitely. I get so frustrated when I want to write but the words just won’t come to me. Usually, I try watching a favorite movie, or maybe I’ll read a favorite book. At any given time, I have over a hundred unread books on my Kindle or Nook, so finding something new to read is always an option as well. I think my brain just needs to relax a little and once that happens, it’s like a switch is flipped and I’m able to write again. Is there a particular snack or drink you have while writing? I love white mochas from Starbucks, but generally I have a cold Coke nearby. I don’t snack a lot while I’m writing, I usually reserve that for my reading or TV watching time. If I do nibble on something while I’m working, it’s usually chips or Chex Mix. I have cats though, and they think my food is their food, so it’s usually easier to eat when I can pay attention and not let them into the bag, because they always try to help themselves. What are your ambitions with your writing career? I guess like most authors, at some point in my career, I’d love to see my name on the USA Today bestseller list. But honestly, I’m just happy being able to write what I love. Writing is an emotional outlet for me, and thankfully it helps pay the bills. So, I guess my main ambition with writing is to write until I’m in my 70’s or 80’s because I can’t imagine anything more wonderful than getting to do something I love for such a long time. As long as there are people willing to read my stories, I’ll keep writing them.
