To everyone they knew, Ginny’s life with Blake Daniels was perfect. When Blake’s job takes them away from home and the friends Ginny has known since childhood, things start to change. On their own, in an isolated house, the man who held Ginny up through her mother’s passing is no longer the kind, supportive man she thought she’d married. In his place now resides a cruel beast whose only desire is to control her. Ginny’s life as she knows it, becomes indelibly marked with every bruise he leaves on her, and every callous word he sends her way. When the unthinkable happens, Ginny is forced to find the strength she needs to leave and rebuild her life without Blake. Yet nothing could have prepared her for what was still to come. Ginny believed the nightmare was over, but it was only just beginning. Her husband is back, and there’s only one reason he’s here. For her.![]() Get Your Copy Today!Amazon US | Amazon UK | Amazon CA | Other RetailersExclusive Excerpt:I glance down to the faded and weathered-looking wood panels of the bench I’m sitting on. From a distance, you don’t notice the beaten, worn appearance. It’s only when you get closer you see the extent of the damage. The colour stain on the wood lifts in various places. One slat is cracked and brittle to the touch. It even feels damp underneath my legs due to the coldness of the day. It’s damaged, but it’s still here, providing what it promises. A respite. Some would choose not to sit on this bench, instead preferring the modern shiny versions further down the road. Yet for me, this bench is a flicker of hope. Sitting here means I’m one step closer to talking to somebody. One step closer to proving that the situation I’m in is not normal or right. My focus rests on the alley across the road where today I had hoped I would find the courage to walk. But uncertainty lingers in my heart and mind like a dead weight, holding me down. To passers-by, you’d be forgiven for believing I possess courage. I appear well groomed and in control. How can I be anything else? Why would I want to admit that I’m ashamed of the person I’ve become? I’m so used to faking a smile that at one time, I wondered if it was fixed permanently on my face. Now I know it isn’t. My smile no longer presents itself freely. It’s displayed as an act. A performance. My hands jitter in my lap, the only physical indication of the fear and uncertainty that racks my body. If I go in there, I admit I’m that person, that woman who allows herself to be beaten. Only allowing isn’t really the right term. I don’t give permission. I beg for him to stop. I plead like a helpless child. How can I still love him, when I hate what he does to me? With each word and every shock of pain, I fear the love I have for him is lessening and the hatred growing. But the loathing isn’t solely for him, it’s for me too. Walking away from Blake requires a strength that I don’t hold. Take now. I’ve been here for over half an hour, only occasionally daring to glance at the building I should be walking into. I sit, surrounded by high-rise buildings and impressive monuments, emphasising how small and insignificant I truly am. So full of self-pity, Ginny. I curl my lip up at the truth of my thoughts. Company arrives on the other side of the bench, surprising me. On the four times I’ve been here, I’ve not seen one person even come near the bench. I don’t look up to acknowledge whoever it is. Instead, I move even closer to the armrest on my right, increasing our distance and feeling that little bit safer with the wood by my side. I shift my attention to the brick built buildings in front of me. There are a number of offices, some shops, but it’s down the wide alley where my focus lies. A trail of shops and offices lead to an alcove with the blue door that holds my attention. It’s only just visible from where I’m sitting. I clasp my hands together in my lap in a bid to cease the shaking, but the movement causes my sleeve to ride up slightly, and the edging of the bruise on my wrist comes into view. Immediately, I tug on my jacket pulling the cuffs into my palm. My cheeks heat with shame, I dip my head and retreat further into the back of the bench, hoping for whoever it is sitting near me, not to have seen.![]() ![]() About the Author:![]() Connect with R.G. Ruby Rowe began writing in January of 2013 under the pen name Scarlet Wolfe,
releasing contemporary and young adult. She soon tried her hand at writing erotica romance and fell in love with the genre.
The pen name Ruby Rowe came about in 2017 when she decided it best to keep her racier books
separate from her young adult romances. She’d like to branch out and release straight erotica; however, she’s a romantic at heart, and believes it will be difficult not to include romance in every story.
When not writing, Ruby reads naughty books about possessive, hot alpha males. She has an
addiction to Pinterest, pinning all the sensual photos she can find. She loves bacon, coffee, and other flavors of ice cream besides vanilla. ;) She hopes her writing will allow her readers a reprieve from the real world, giving them an opportunity to live out their fantasies. ![]() The Hysterics Box Set by Kristen Hope Mazzola is available NOW! ![]() My rating: 4 of 5 stars Freaking hot! I really enjoyed Out of the Blue. I was immediately pulled in and intrigued with the story. These characters are wonderful. At first I was over Lan but he did redeem himself, Parker is the braiding jerk that you know youâll fall in love with but my favorite it Easton. Heâs adorable. I loved how when heâs nervous he rambles and his banter with his friend Oliver is cute. Now this is really hot. Like explosive. Yes itâs three men so if that isnât your thing donât read it but I for one love it. The story is written very well and has a wonderful story. Itâs a definite must read. Volatile. Gorgeous. Those are the words they used to describe Kingston Reynolds on the first day of my internship. Well, it wasn’t so much of a description as it was a warning. Do not fraternize with the drivers if you want to keep your job. It was a rule I had no problem following. I never saw King. He was a God of racing while I worked at the factory with a public relations team of incompetents. That was until I found myself the center of his fast, volatile, gorgeous attention. On the circuit he’s known as the King of Wands because he’s incredibly focused on winning...unless you cross him. Then he’s as ruthless and cunning as a real life villain. The more time I spend with him the more I discover he’s earned his name well. I shouldn’t want to be with a man like him. They warned me to stay away. And yet here I am, playing with fire and hoping I won’t get burned. King of Wands is part of The Cards of Love series releasing October 2018! ![]() EXCERPT Even in the dim light I could feel the moment his eyes began searching my face. I wanted to refuse to meet his gaze. I wanted to be stronger than his magnetic pull, but I wasn’t. “Seeing you dancing with another man makes me stressed.” “It was only Adam—a happily married older man.” “Doesn’t matter, Isabel.” I loved the way he said my name. Three syllables starting with an E sound. E-sa-bel. No one else said it quite like him. “Why doesn’t it matter?” He looked so sad, as if he expected me to turn and run the moment he told me the truth. “I want to be the only man who touches you. Does that scare you? It scares me.” It definitely bothered me. I never wanted to be a possession, but with King it didn’t feel like ownership—it felt more like a mutual claiming. I didn’t want anyone else touching him either. “Why does it scare you?” He pushed off the wall and came closer. The lights of the party danced off him as he walked, highlighting his hair, eyes, and chin in alternating patterns. When he stopped in front of me I realized he was sucking on a mint. He sighed, slow and deep. “Why do I feel this way about you? I like it, but it’s unnerving to have zero control over it. Especially when my feelings seem to hurt you. Like they did on the way here.” “I feel the same way, you know?” I wanted to move into his arms and sink into his embrace, but that was crazy, right? So I stayed where I was. “But feelings aside, at the end of the day, we both have lives to lead. Lives that have rules we need to abide by.” Or was that just an excuse I was telling myself? King cocked his head a little to the side, a faint, sexy smile forming at the corners of his lips. “You know what? You think too much. You’re too analytical. That’s the difference between us. You’re all analysis and I’m all instinct.” I couldn’t argue with that. The one thing I kept coming back to over and over again was that I needed to be logical. Every minute in the same space with King was a battle between good and evil, the evil obviously being my lusty, traitorous body that chose the worst possible time to awaken. “And my brain is telling me I need more data while yours is what? Horny?” He smoothed his hand down my arm. “You’re confusing instinct with lust. I am not.” “What’s the difference?” It was an honest question because to me it would seem a man’s instinctual desire to have a woman would have to come from lust. King wandered to the edge of the balcony, turning to lean against it. Out there the breeze caught his hair more fully and it danced along his forehead. “I was raised by my aunt, did you know that?” “No.” All I could find on King was that he was poor and talented, selected by Luis for a special sponsorship. There was no mention of his parents in his biography. His fingers twitched like he wished they held another cigarette. “I have no clue who my father was but my mum loved her heroin more than she loved her boys. I was eleven when she finally died. My Aunt Melanie took us in but she already had three boys of her own. Six boys is a lot to handle.” He stared off into the ballroom. “We all did what we had to do. Some of us still are.” His gaze sharpened and unfocused, causing his brow to furrow. And darn it all, I wanted to smooth away the lines. It was like this nonstop irrational instinct to soothe and please—something so completely foreign to me. “And what does that have to do with lust?” He shrugged. “Boys let their lust lead them around by their dicks. I’ve never had that luxury, nor do I want it.” I found myself stepping closer and closer. “What do you want?” “To be the best,” he said simply. “I love being in a car. The speed, the control, the instinct . . . it’s part of me. I want to break every record, win every race. All these assholes who don’t want me around . . . they’ll be kissing my ass in the end.” He wanted revenge. And maybe security, if I were to read under his words to what they really meant. “So you’re focused on a singular goal. You can’t be led around by your dick—to steal your phrase—because you’ve got bigger fish to fry. Am I understanding you correctly?” “You say funny things.” He reached around my waist and pulled me against him. I liked the warm contact of his firm body against mine. “I like your funny sayings. Yes, I feel lust, Isabel. I feel a great deal of it for you. But that isn’t why I get angry when other men look at you.” He got angry at looks too? “Then why?” I was whispering now because we were so close. Our bodies touched from hip to shoulder. His lips were only inches from mine. He was so warm and strong and heady to be near. His eyes traced the features of my face and I couldn’t help but do the same. Those lips . . . god, how I wanted to know how they felt. “For years you’ve been a trophy, Isabel. Marcy and Luis’s angel. They speak reverently of you. You’re brilliant and nice and kind and wonderful. I thought you must be awful.” He played with one of the waves of hair that kept blowing around my neck. “That first day at the factory, I saw you across the room and I thought, damn, now that is a gorgeous woman. I felt lust.” He nodded and smiled while his eyes drank in my body now. “And then we were introduced and I realized who you were. And you weren’t awful—not at all. You really were brilliant and nice and kind and wonderful. And that just made me want you even more. But then you spoke up for me in the meeting. You had a whole plan right off the top of your brilliant, beautiful head, all for me, and I thought . . . now that’s a woman I can really fall for.” His eyes flicked up to mine. “I trust you because it feels right in here.” He patted his chest. “Lust is what I felt when I first saw you . . . but instinct is what has me standing here asking you to be with me now.” ![]() About the Author Alexis Anne has a BA in Anthropology, and an MA in Applied Anthropology with a concentration in Historic Archaeology and GIS (Geographic Information Systems.) The Truth Within
I'm not a fighter. I never was. So how do I make the one man who might just be worth fighting for see that?
At twenty-five years old, Ford Cornell should have his whole life ahead of him but instead, the would-be artist is drowning in denial and just trying to get through each day. And the boy who once believed life was about following impossible dreams has finally come to accept that it's really only about surviving a living nightmare... one of his own making. But the bruises are becoming harder to hide. So is the truth... I refuse to fall for a guy who won't accept the truth about who he is or what he wants. Not again... They say bad things happen in threes. For Sherriff Camden Wells, it's more like fours... or fives... or dozens. After an ugly lie destroys his career and the man he'd planned to spend the rest of his life with cuts him to the core with the ultimate betrayal, forty-year-old Cam is counting on his new job as sheriff of the quiet town of Pelican Bay to be the fresh start he needs. What he isn't counting on is meeting a young man who makes him want to break all his own rules. He wants me to accept something that will cause me to lose everything. I may not have much but it's something and something is better than nothing... right? Ford's gotten used to his role as his older brother's punching bag and being his mother's never-ending disappointment. They may not be the Cleavers but family is family and Ford's seen up close and personal what happens when you don't have anyone in your corner... or when you go against family. And there's just no way he's strong enough to survive that... Nothing about us should make sense but maybe that's why it does... Two men... one living a lie and one knocking down the walls of the closet he was forced to live in for so long. When one white-hot encounter leads to another and then another, Ford and Cam are forced to accept that their need for each other isn't going away anytime soon. But being together means one will need to go against everything he believes in. So which man will bend and which will break? And what will the truth ultimately reveal? **This book CAN be read as a standalone, but you may want to consider checking out books 1 and 2 in the series to fully enjoy all the secondary characters you'll meet in this story. Although Sloane Kennedy always dreamed of being a writer as a teenager, she didn't take the plunge until March of 2015 when she released her first novel as an independent author. Since then, she has released more than a dozen books including the Amazon best-selling "Barretti Security" series, "Finding" series and "Protectors" series. While she initially began writing M/F romance, she found her true passion writing gay romance and all four of her most recent releases reached the #1 spot on Amazon's Gay Romance bestseller list and Freeing Zane, her final book in the Barretti Security series, made it to Amazon's overall bestseller list. Sloane was born in Germany and grew up in Virginia and Wisconsin. Although she currently lives in Wisconsin, the place where she has always felt most at home is Seattle and many of her books take place in the Emerald city. Although she is unmarried, a menagerie of 2 dogs and 3 cats keeps her busy enough and 3 young nieces take care of the rest of her free time. Sloane loves being able to share her passion for romance with readers and she is truly humbled by all the support she's received from fans and fellow authors alike.
