My name is Avery Decker, and my story isnât for the faint of heart. It is about revenge and hatred, misery and violence. I wasnât always this way even though it was in my blood. I grew up happy and in love with my best friend until she betrayed me and walked away. After that, I fell into the deep, dark world I was meant for.
Presleigh Clarke's actions turned me into the ruthless man I am today. Too bad for her, I believe people should pay for the things they have done. The more painful and messy, the better. I get off on making people bleed. It feeds my inner demon, and right now, he is starving. She crossed me once, so now sheâll know what itâs like to fear me. But not all stories end the way you think they will ⦠mine certainly didnât.

Big blue eyes stare into mine with a look of terror. Good, she recognizes me. Even in her drunken state, and eleven years later, she still knows who I am.
Her pink lips part, inhaling sharply. Her entire body goes rigid. I take a step toward her as she pulls me in just as she always did. I never could control myself with her. But this time has to be different. I have to be in total control of myself and of her.
She doesnât move.
She doesnât blink.
She doesnât breathe.
Deciding to close the gap completely, I take two more steps until my body is close enough to feel the heat radiating from hers. Her long, dark hair drapes over one shoulder, and it looks good on her. She loved when I used to run my hands through her short hair and play with it. Now I just want to wrap it around my fists and force her to her knees. We never did fuck. We made loveâalways soft and slow. Now when I picture us in bed together, she is bound and gagged. That way, she wonât be able to stop all the sadistic shit that comes to mind.
Iâve become one of those men I swore to never be! All because of her.
I want her to beg me.
I want her to bleed for me.
I want her to love me.
But Iâm not stupid. None of those things will come willingly. Iâm gonna have to take them. And I have no problem with that. She made me who I am today, after all.
She continues to stand there like a deer in headlights. I give her a threatening smile but reach out to tuck her hair behind her ear in an innocent gesture when what I really wanna do is slap that look of surprise off her face.
Her body physically shakes.
Shantel is a Texas born woman who now lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her high school sweetheart, who is a wonderful, supportive husband and their two daughters. She loves to spend time cuddled up on the couch with a good book.
She considers herself extremely lucky to do what she does while getting to work from home. Going to concerts and the movies are just a few of her favorite things to do. She hates coffee but loves wine. She and her husband are both huge football fans, college and NFL. And she has to feed her high heel addiction by shopping for shoes weekly.
Although she has a passion to write, her family is most important to her. She loves spending evenings at home with her husband and daughters, along with their cat and dog.

WOW JUST WOW!!! A SUPERB READ!!! This book made me fall in love with this very deep, very dark story of two souls that were meant to be together. I have to start by saying that I absolutely love a deep dark read, but this one really took me by surprise and it took me longer to read because it is written so well and goes into so much detail that it feels so real. It deals with some real life situations that are really happening in our world that a lot of people don't know is really happening all around us. It's subject matter is a hard one to learn about and a hard pill to swallow. This book may not be for everyone and honestly I had to put it down a few times because of the tough subject matter that this book deals with. Yes, it's deep, dark, and twisted, BUT I HIGHLY recommend that you push through the darkness because this book has such a beautiful rewarding ending that makes the journey so well worth the read.
Shantel Tessier was a new to me author and I am really ashamed to admit that. I can not believe that I have not read anything by her before now. She does such an AMAZING job pulling the reader into Presleigh/Bunny and Avery's story and bringing it to life. Their story is just so riveting, so thought provoking, so real to life that it had me thinking about their story when I wasn't reading it and I am still thinking about these two even after reading the last page.
I am so so glad that I took a chance on this author and this book that I will never hesitate to read any of her work from this day forward.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
