Tragic by Devney Perry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh My Gosh y’all, this book.... it gave me goose bumps. Actually the whole series has but Kaine he has my heart. I just want to take this man and give him the biggest hug, hold him tight and not let go. He and Piper both have been through so much and their pain became my pain. I love this authors work because of that. She puts you right there with them and the way she writes is absolutely phenomenal. This book is about heartbreak, love and forgiveness. Definitely grab the Kleenex your going to need them. View all my reviews

The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways. In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip. Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands. Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor. An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room. Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun. Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything. All we have to do is trust enough to fall.
AMAZON | APPLE BOOKS | B&NThe air between us shifts. I’m filled with a strange giddiness, wanting to laugh for the fun of it, but I’m also too warm, my limbs oddly heavy as if simple movements might be too much for me. His tone turns soft and cajoling, teasing the truth out of me. “Are you going to tell me what you do?” When I say nothing, the corners of his eyes crinkle. “I see. You’re going to torture me a bit.” The warm, fuzzy feeling grows as I shrug. “Torture feels apropos in this scenario.” He hums again, taking another step toward me. “What makes you think I won’t like being tortured by you?” The heat of his body and the scent of his skin makes my head light and my pulse pound. How did it get to this point where the highlight of my day is flirting with Jax Blackwood? Despite the thrill, I know I’m in over my head. I haven’t gone out on a date in months because I form attachments, I get emotional, and then I hurt when they inevitably leave. And this man will leave. He is as bright and fleeting as a camera flash. I’ll be left with the image of him seared into my memory and nothing more. I tell myself all of this, the voice in my head as stern as possible. But it doesn’t make me back away. It doesn’t stop my body from somehow straining toward his without even moving. Because it might be stupid of me, but I want to feel something that isn’t planned. Something, for however briefly, that’s real. He’s too attuned to me not to notice. John’s lids lower as his attention slides down my body before easing back up to my face. Slowly, he rests his forearm on the wall beside my head. “Tell me, Stella,” he murmurs. “No,” I whisper back, flirting, even though I shouldn’t. His biceps bunch as he leans in, a smile dancing on his lips. “Tell.” My breasts graze his chest, and I feel it in my toes. “You’re crowding me.” I hate how breathy I sound. “Can’t help it.” His voice is a rumble, the heat of his breath playing over my skin. He ducks his head, drawing close until our lips nearly brush, and when he speaks again, his tone is almost conversational, except for the husky quality that touches deep within my core. “You smell like strawberries. Fucking delicious.” My lids flutter, and I swallow hard. “Ordinarily, I’d call you out on that cliché but since I’ve been eating strawberries, you aren’t exactly wrong.” His chuckle is slow and easy, as he eases back and his gaze slowly travels over my face. “Were they sweet, Stella Button?” He’s looking at my mouth like he might try to find out. My lips tremble in response, and John tracks the movement, his breathing getting deeper, faster. “You have two freckles on your lips. One on the top lip and one on the bottom corner.” Those damn freckles. They were the bane of my adolescence. I hid them with lipstick and silently cursed whenever someone mentioned them. Freckles don’t have any feelings, but I swear it’s as if he’s touching them. “You’re just noticing this?” I try to make it sound like a joke, but it comes out weak and thready. His own lips quirk. “Oh, I noticed. It’s distracting as hell. They’re like two little dots of butter toffee. Makes me want to lick them, get a taste.” Oh, God. Lick them, please. I can almost feel it. I want to feel it. No. Bad Stella. Behave. John’s lips part a fraction like he just might take that taste. “Back off,” I whisper. And yet somehow my traitorous hands find their way to his sides, running over the waistband of his jeans, holding him there. John makes a sound deep in his throat and tilts his hips, pressing them against mine. A distinctly thick bulge nudges my belly. Both of us lose a breath, and then he’s closer, his cheek touching my temple. “You’ll have to let me go first.” My thumbs slide under the edge of his shirt and find smooth, taut skin. A tremor goes through his body. I try to think, search for what the hell we’ve been talking about. His lips brush the crest of my cheek as he murmurs against my skin. “Tell me what you do, Stella. You know you want to.” My smile feels illicit. Somehow the action is directly tied to all my happy parts, making them draw hot and tight. “I don’t think I do.” Another hum. “Liar. You’re dying to.” Kristen Callihan is an author because there is nothing else she’d rather be. She is a three-time RITA nominee and winner of two RT Reviewer’s Choice awards. Fall by Kristen Callihan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars 3.5 Stars This is my first book by this author and I liked the story but I have to give it 3.5 stars because it dragged for me. I caught myself losing interest about twenty percent in and it just went down from there. I did like the characters and there banter with each other was comical. The writing was good, it just took a while to get the story going. There is another couple that intrigued me, I look forward to reading their story. Now this is just my opinion, please try it for yourself. View all my reviews
Trouble in Hell by Alex Grayson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh Wow!! This book is so damn good. Trouble in Hell is such a deep, dark, twisted read that will not only have you on the edge of your seat, but feeling every emotion possible of the characters. It deals with a real life topic that is hard at times to read through, but that just gives the book the realness that will absolutely entrap you into this story. Trouble and Remi will make you fall head over heels in love with them. Their story is so riveting, thought provoking and will keep those pages turning until the very end. I love anything that Alex Grayson writes because she can entrap you in a story before you even know that it's happened. I didn't even read the synopsis before diving into this book and I am so glad that I didn't. I highly recommend that you go into this one blind if you can. This is such a GREAT start to a new series and I can't wait to get the next book. Happy Reading Everyone!!! View all my reviews
My Bastard by Ellie Jean
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh My!!! This is one of the HOTTEST books that I've read this year!! A new to me author, Ellie Jean took me on one hell of a wild ride that I didn't want to end. She drew my attention with the Illegal Street Racing scene only to drive me even deeper into a story that is filled with a smoking hot AF love story that I loved every outlaw second of. Emerald and Slate's story is a fast paced, action packed, and a HOT as hell romance. Emerald is not only strong, beautiful, and sassy, but she is also a total badass that can take care of herself. She is one of the best mechanics and fastest street racers in town, which is what catches Slates eye. Slate is OMG so effin HOT, tattooed, Bad Boy!!! He is known around town as being a ruthless bastard that lives a dark and dangerous life that is filled with illegal activity. Emerald knows that he and his crew are one's that you don't want to eff with and that you stay away from. These two are outlaws that will become partners in crime. She will be his Bonnie and he will be her Clyde. Their sinfully beautiful story will have your heart racing and your kindle on fire. This is a MUST READ!!!! Happy Reading Everyone!!! Drilled by Jasinda Wilder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh...Wow...Another Scorching, Hot AF, Dad Bod!!! I am absolutely loving the Dad Bod series and all the Hotness!! Drilled is not only hilarious, but hot AF. Audra and Franco heated up my kindle right from the start with mind blowing sex. Their story is so good. I loved that they are both basically players so they both know how the game is played....hook up for one night with no strings attached. They both have their own rules that they go by and neither of them have ever broken their own rules. So what could possibly go wrong...right??? Not only is this Audra and Franco's story, but the reader is also giving more Jessie and Imogen along with the other HOT DAD BOD's plus some newbies. I really highly recommend this series!! Knight by Giulia Lagomarsino
My rating: 4 of 5 stars What a roller coaster of a ride that is worth every minute! I really enjoyed Knight and Kate’s story and seeing the way they struggle with their relationship was so addicting to read. I laughed, cried, and just wanted to call it quits at one part because my heart was just as broken as Kate’s. It was all so worth the journey!!! Happy Reading Everyone!!! View all my reviews

Seeking Solace: Angelina's Restoration by Chelsea Camaron
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Chelsea Camaron did an OUTSTANDING job on this story. Angelina's story starts in the first book Stay. This is a story that took me beyond my comfort zone in the first book, but it's a story that is so gripping that it ends up pulling you in, ripping your heart to shreds, putting it somewhat back together, only to be done again. What I loved about the first is that you are giving a choice of endings and that makes it all better. But Wait....Chelsea is not done with us just yet, she is now giving us more of this AMAZING story. I am literally beyond ecstatic about this. Even though it's been a while since I read Stay, starting this book is just like I never stopped reading the first one. It picks up right where it left off. Seeking Solace now gives us a more deeper look into Angelina's story from her past to her present and even into her future. I was left with my mind blown and speechless in the end of this book. Angelina's story is one that has stuck with me like no other has. I am beyond excited for her story to continue and I'm extremely invested that there is just NO turning back now. I have to have more and it just can't happen fast enough for me. Chelsea deserves so much praise for this wonderful masterpiece that she has written. She is truly amazingly talented!!! If you have not read any of her work, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do! Happy Reading Everyone!!! View all my reviews

Filthy Lies by Raine Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars I am in absolute awe with James and Winter's story. I was curious about their interactions in the first book and knew that there had to be so much more to their story. Their journey from friends to lovers just blew me away. I loved seeing the way that they both had such strong feelings for each other and not knowing that the other had the same feelings. Their love and feelings for one another is so off the charts good. The way that they claim one another will melt your heart. This has the perfect ending to such a perfect love story!!! Anytime that you get a book about the Blackstone's, you already know that it's going to be good. I didn't realize how much I missed them all until the new Blackstone Dynasty series. Can't wait for more Blackstone. Happy Reading Everyone!! View all my reviews

Submitting in Vegas by Sam Mariano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars My favorite Morelli! Rafe oh Rafe, how I love thee!! This man, he is everything. Yes he’s dangerous but he’s also funny and extremely sexy. He’s one of those characters that pull you in and you invest yourself in them. Virginia is his waitress and really the only true friend he has. She’s loved him for years from a far knowing that she can never cross that line with him. They have to stay friends ..... until they don’t. These two are explosive! At first I wasn’t really sure how I felt about Virginia. I kinda found her stalkerish and crazy but hey usually at least one person is crazy , we are talking about the Morelli’s. I enjoyed their story and Sam didn’t a fantastic job writing it. If mafia reads are your thing, you’ll definitely want to read this one. It’s freaking wonderful! View all my reviews |
