FALLEN CREST HIGH
It was a Friday night, two in the morning, and my two best friends were shrieking in drunken laughter behind me. I sighed as I pulled into the gas station. My little Corolla had been chugging near empty for the last few miles. And Iâll admit that Iâd been worried we wouldâve broken down on the side of the road, not for my carâs sake, for my sake. I didnât know if I couldâve handled walking with Lydia and Jessica. And on cue, Lydia rammed her elbow in the back of my head.
âOh, Sam!â Muffled laughter. âIâm sorry. I didnât meanââ She dissolved in laughter once more.
Jessica wrapped her hands around the passenger seat and leaned forward. âCan we go to another party?â
âNo.â I unclipped my seat belt and started to get out.
They scrambled out, or tried. Lydia tripped and was nearly clocked by my side mirror. Jessica tumbled after and leaned her weight on Lydiaâs shoulders so she wouldnât fall while she sidestepped over her.
What a friend.
âWhy not? Itâs our last Friday night before school. Come on, Sam!â
Lydia stood and straightened out her skirt and top. When her boobs were back in place and the skirt barely covered her ass, she turned her pleading eyes on me too. âItâll be fun. Come on! I know where a public party is.â
Jessica whirled to her. âOh! That sounds awesome.â
They bounced together. Both wore flowing skirts, tight tops, and brown curls that flung everywhere. When one hit me in the face, I swatted it away.
âIâm taking you guys home. Youâre both drunk.â
âCome on, youâre such a loser tonight,â Lydia moaned.
Jessica frowned and flipped her hair over her shoulder. âYeah, you are. Whatâs going on with you?â
âDid you and Jeffrey have a fight?â Lydiaâs eyebrows wiggled up and down. She peeled over in laughter once more.
I gave them my polite fuck off smile and each rolled their eyes. Then Lydia lifted her nose and got a whiff of gas station pizza. Her stomach growled and off they went. As I watched them skip together, holding hands, and giggling over the fact they were drunk, I leaned back against my car.
While the gas was guzzling into my car, I heard Jessicaâs question again. Was something wrong with me? And I sighed. Only my whole world had changed that afternoon. I could see my motherâs face when I had left Jessicaâs house and went home for the afternoon. Weâd all been so happy to go out that night. Even me. Yes, Jeffrey was usually an ass, but a small part of me had wondered if tonight was going to be the night we slept together. Heâd been my boyfriend for three years now. He was nice, well, he was a douche at times, but he still seemed to like me. And I liked him too, but while my mother had been happy jumping from bed to bed before she got knocked up with me, I didnât want to end up like that. So I had taken everything slow with Jeff, but when I got home to get ready for the party that night, little butterflies were in my stomach.
They died and burned in flames when I opened my front door. Boxes upon boxes were lined inside and in the middle of them sat my mother. A bottle of wine was half empty beside her as she sat in her silk bathrobe. Tears coated her face, but when she saw me a bright smile was forced out.
âHey, honey.â Hiccup. âHow are you?â
I let the door go and it slammed shut behind me. âWhat happened?â
âOh.â She gave me a dismissive wave. âNothing. You donât need to worry about a thing.â
âWorry about what?â
âWeâre going to be fine.â
I hadnât moved. My purse still hung from my arm. âMom, what happened?â Boxes were everywhere, even in the kitchen. I saw two empty wine bottles in the sink.
âYou and me, honey. Weâre going to be just fine.â
Her hands froze. Sheâd been taping up a box, but she sucked in her breath and held still.
She finished the rest of her wine and she almost fell backwards from the effort. When she set the bottle aside, I asked again, âMom, whatâs going on?â
She started sobbing. âOh honey. Iâm so sorry about this. I really am.â
âMom! Whatâs going on?â
âIfellinlovewithsomeoneelsean dweâreleavingyourfather.â She hiccupped again and swiped at some of her tears.
She took a deep breath. âIâ¦weâre leaving your father.â
My insides screamed at her. My hands curled into fists and I wanted to launch myself at her. I wanted to pound the hell out of her, but I didnât do any of that. Instead, I collapsed on one of the couches and I listened to everything she said. Sheâd fallen in love with someone else. She wanted to be with him. She told dad, he kicked us out, and tomorrow we were going to move in with this boyfriend of hers.
âHuh?â She lifted tear-stained eyes to me.
A soft sob and she whispered, âJames Kade.â
She nodded and wiped her arm over her face. âHe has two boys your age, honey. You might know them.â
Know them? Everyone knew them. Mason and Logan Kade. While they were rich, their dad owned five of the factories that our town thrived on, they chose to go to public school. Everyone knew the Kade brothers. They couldâve gone to the private school, where most of the rich kids went, or where I went because my dad was the football coach, but theyâd shaken everything up when they chose public school.
And now I was going to be living with them?
As I watched my mom, who sobbed as if sheâd been the one cheated on, something shriveled up inside of me. I would never be like my mother. Never. And sorry, Jeff, but that meant he wasnât going to be getting laid by me for a very very long time.
However, after I had spent most of the afternoon and evening packing my things, he wasnât excited to hear my change of plans when Lydia and Jessica waited for me to go to the party that night. In fact, heâd been a jerk. Not surprising. A few choice curse words, a few beers guzzled, and he wiped his mouth clean of me.
âIâll get someone better, bitch. Youâre not the only hot chick here.â And off he went. His jeans rode low, a beer in hand, and his hair gelled into badass spikes.
I rolled my eyes and went in search for my friends.
Heaven help me, but Jeff would be back. I was at the point where I wasnât sure if I cared or not.
An Escalade wheeled into the slot beside mine. At first I didnât pay attention, lost in my world-ending daydreams, but when someone shouted all my attention snapped back to reality.
Four boys spilled out of the vehicle and two passed by me.
I sucked in my breath.
âFuck that, man. Letâs go to Mollyâs instead,â one boy laughed as he hung on his friend. He threw his head back and laughed on a carefree note. His brown curls danced and he seemed invigorated. âYouâll get pussy there. Promise.â
He laughed another maniacal laugh before the two disappeared inside.
My hands clenched the gas nozzle tightly and I couldnât take my eyes off of him.
Logan Kade, my soon-to-be-roommate. While I watched through the window, he laughed at something his friend said. Lydia and Jessica saw who was in the other aisle and quickly went to flirt with them. The friend looked interested, but Logan skimmed a bored eye over them and went back for something more inside the store.
I hadnât seen the Kade brothers up close, not in a long time, but Iâd heard plenty about them. Logan was a junior, like me. Mason was a year older. Both were good looking and Mason was rumored to be six foot one with a muscular build. He played defensive lineman for a reason on his football team. Logan had the leaner build, but he was an inch shorter.
I snorted to myself. I couldnât believe I even knew these details. As I cursed my friends inside for their gossiping ways, I glanced back at the Escalade and froze once more. Two green eyes stared back at me.
Mason had been filling up his vehicle and watching me the whole time.
I swallowed painfully and was barely aware that my gas was done. I couldnât look away from him.
Logan was handsome. There was no doubt about that, but he had nothing against his older brother. Now I understood why so many gossiped and whispered about the Kade brothers. The hairs on the back of my neck stood straight up and my eyes were locked with his in some sort of battle.
I couldnât look away. I just knew that.
His friend rounded the vehicle and leaned beside him. Both watched me and I saw the grin come to his friend. He crossed his feet and looked like he was at the movies, popcorn and all.
Then he said something and Mason smirked at me.
âMase, dude. Candy flavored condoms.â Logan leapt across the lot and did a small dance when he handed a box to his brother.
I knew I shouldnât have been watching, but I couldnât stop myself. I was riveted by both brothers. Logan was bobbing his head in rhythm with the music that blared from the gas stationâs speakers while Mason hadnât taken his eyes from mine.
Thatâs when I knew without a doubt that he knew who I was.
I sucked in my breath and my knees trembled for a moment. Whatâd I do? Did I do something? Then I remembered my mom sitting in between all those boxes, tears down her face, and an empty bottle of wine beside her.
Fuck them. And fuck their dad.
My mom wasnât a saint. I knew that for sure, but sheâd been with my dad for the last seventeen years. Now she cheated? Now she decided we should move in with her new boyfriend and his family?
Fuck them all.
My eyes hardened. Masonâs narrowed. And I sneered at him before I went inside to pay. When I came back out, Lydia and Jessica were still in the bathroom; Mason passed me to pay inside. He wore a black leather jacket over a black shirt and jeans. His black hair was cut short and his eyes held mine in some form of trance as he passed by me. His jacket rubbed against me, he passed so close, and we both turned to watch the other.
My heart faltered for a moment.
The same hatred I felt for him was in his eyes.
I lifted my lip to sneer at him and I knew he read the message because he narrowed his eyes, but shouldered inside the store.
I sighed and went to my car to wait. Logan and their friends were inside the Escalade, laughing about something. Then the door pinged its exit and I stiffened. I knew whoâd be coming again.
I looked, I couldnât help it, and met Masonâs gaze as he neared me. He paused close to my car and looked like he was going to stop. I lifted my head up, ready for whatever he was going to lay on me, but two cars screeched to a halt not far from us.
His eyes snapped up. âWhat the hell?â
âHey losers!â a guy yelled and cursed at them as he ran from the car with something smoking in his hand.
Logan and their friends were out of the car in an instant. Mason rushed past me and I stood there, shocked, as all four dragged the guys from the other cars. Logan grabbed the smoking thing from the guyâs hand and gave it to his brother. Mason took it and threw it in the first car. And the rest of the doors were flung open. Guys from that car poured out. Then another smoking thing was produced and Logan flung it into the other car.
Their two friends were still punching some of the other guys. Mason and Logan started punching the rest. It wasnât long before the cars were filling up with smoke and I got the first whiff of fire.
âOh no,â I muttered to myself and dashed to the store. After I flung open the door, I screamed, âLydia, Jessica, get out here now!â
They rushed from the back section and stared, dumbfounded at me. âSam, whatâs going on?â
I latched onto Lydiaâs arm and dragged her out with me. âWeâre leaving. Now.â
Jessica followed behind, but braked in the middle of the lot. Her eyes were wide as she took in the sight before her.
I shoved Lydia inside the car and twisted around. âGet lost! The cars are going to explode.â
Mason and Loganâs friends heard me and stopped. They grabbed Logan first, but all of them dragged Mason away from the guy he was punching. Fury lit up his face, but when Logan said something in his ear, he turned and leapt for his Escalade. As he climbed inside, his eyes met mine for a second.
I shrugged and shoved Jessica behind Lydia inside mine. Then I hurried into my car and we were out of there in a flash.
Everything happened so fast.
Lydia and Jessica were bowled over in the back. âI canât believe that happened!â
âWhat did happen?â
âLogan Kade is so hot.â
Jessica snorted. âLogan is? Didnât you see Mason? Iâd do him in a heartbeat.â
Lydia moaned. âLet me go to bed with my dreams right now. Why canât they go to our school?â
Jessica grinned again. âI heard itâs because public school is tougher. They didnât want a pansy school.â
Lydia fanned herself. âWhatever. I donât care. Iâm transferring.â
Then Jessica grew serious. âYou think thatâll be on the news?â
Lydia lifted her shoulders. âAll I know is, how are we supposed to go home now? Sam, please, please, please can we go to another party? I bet I know where theyâre going.â
I dropped them off at the party and left for home.

Gasping for Air by T.S. McKinney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really really liked this book. It's sweet, hot and extremely sexy. I totally feel in love with these characters. Dakota is so broken that my heart hurts for him and Trystan not only is sexy but he's very funny. He's one of those arrogant alphas that you can't help but fall in love with.
The story is very well written and touches on some very hard subjects. The way the author wrote was very tasteful and had my heart breaking. She gave us a really great story with loveable characters and has me wanting more. This is the second book in this series but can be read as a standalone. I liked it so much I am going to go back and read the first book. If your a fan of hot sexy m/m books this one is definitely for you.

“Well?” Ky asked.
Tanner ran his hand over his head. The brother hadn’t attended one of our cookouts or slutfests in weeks. Not that he ever entertained himself with sluts—still too hard for his piece of pussy down in Mexico. He’d been busy trying to track down Meister. Unlike most of the white-power shit Tanner and Tank grew up with, this Meister was untraceable and off the grid. As much of a computer whizz kid as Tanner was, Meister was proving to be one slippery fucking snake to pin down.
“Gotta be honest, I didn’t think I was anywhere close to finding anything on this prick.” Tanner nodded toward Tank. “We knew of him, of course. I knew he had dealings with my father and uncle, just never met him myself. He’s Aryan Brotherhood, but works closely with the Klan. And there’s nothing on him. No email traces, no invoices, no texts. Nothing.”
I gritted my teeth and glanced at Styx, who was listening closely. Ky wasn’t originally gonna tell the prez about the plan to get Phebe, because of his fucking wedding, but that didn’t last long. Styx knew something was up with his VP. He read him like I read Flame and Vike. So Ky fessed up, and Styx was all for the plan. He’d had to push his wedding back by a month anyhow to get the pastor Mae wanted to conduct the ceremony, so he had time to kill.
“But you found something?” Ky translated as Styx signed.
Tanner sighed, the black circles around his eyes showing how hard the brother had been working. “I got something.” He shook his head, and my blood ran cold. I knew whatever he had found wasn’t good.
Tanner opened the file in front of him and threw a photograph toward the prez. Styx looked at it, then gave it to Ky. “Some middle-of-nowhere ghost town?”
Ky passed the picture around. Vike handed it to me, and I studied it. It was an aerial shot, and the picture was grainy, but from what I could make out, it was just a huge piece of land scattered with decrepit old buildings.
I passed the picture along. “Fucker owns this?”
Tanner faced me. “Yeah, or at least his father did. He’s dead now, but the deeds are still in his father’s name. Been in the family for decades. Took me a while to trace it.” He shook his head. “Meister is notorious among the Klan. Right, Tank?”
“Yeah,” Tank agreed. “Never met him either, but we’d all heard of him. Prick has been mobilizing for years for the race war they think is coming. Real serious, Oklahoma-City-bomb shit. From what we’ve heard, the guy has a one-track mind when it comes to advancing the white race. You think Hitler was fucked up? Well, imagine if he had a kid who was one built motherfucker, with a fucking carbon copy of his psycho mind; and you’ve got Meister. Fucker ain’t even German. Just wishes he was, spouting German phrases around like he’s born and bred Berlin. Delusional asshole.”
“This ain’t gonna be easy,” Tanner finished, looking at me, Vike, Flame, Hush and Cowboy. It was the five of us who had agreed to go looking for Phebe. Hush and Cowboy nodded at me to let me know they were still in.
“So he’s in this ghost town?” Ky asked, translating Styx’s sign language again. “If so, we’ll all just go in and get him, make the fucker talk and tell us where he’s got Phebe.”
Tanner sat forward. “He ain’t just living in the ghost town or hiding out. That’s where he has his enterprise.”
“Enterprise?” Ky echoed. It was his own question this time.
Tanner nodded. “From what I can tell, it’s a fucking brothel. Members of the Aryan Brotherhood, Klan, or Klan sympathizers, can go there for a night or a few days at a time.” Tank shifted uncomfortably next to him. “Ain’t sure, but I’m thinking it ain’t just getting your dick sucked and fucked. It’ll be real fucked-up shit. If Meister’s reputation is anything to go by, we would be walking into an organized, armed hellhole.” Tanner’s eyes darkened. “I get the Klan has a reputation for being full of backward rednecks. I ain’t gonna lie—growing up, most of my father’s cronies were that way. Thick as fuck and couldn’t do shit without screwing it up. Skinheads, lower-ranked soldiers, you know?”
“But there were some members that weren’t,” Tank continued. He cast an embarrassed glance at Tanner. “We weren’t, for starters.”
Tanner nodded. “It’s not the norm, but some of us were good. Smart, strong fighters, or just outright fucking psychos. The skinheads and rednecks are the foot soldiers. The likes of us, the likes of Meister, are the fucking SS. The planners, leaders, the generals—the ones who believe in the cause so much that they’re fucking lethal with what they’ll do, what they’re capable of. Meister is true Aryan Brotherhood; he’s preparing for war. He’s the real fucking deal.”
“And now he’s in our neck of the woods to stir up shit?” I asked.
Tanner nodded. “Comes from northern Texas. Never moved our way before. But the Klan are building day by day, joining forces with other white supremacist gangs—like the Brotherhood—and with the shit that’s on the news twenty-four-seven, blacks and whites at each others throats, he’s moved to the headquarters.” The brother’s jaw clenched. “To my father and uncle, who’ll be protecting him from being found out by the feds.” He sighed and ran his hand down his face. “From what I can figure out, this ghost-town brothel of his has only existed in the last year or so. He’s looking to fund something.”
“They ain’t dealing guns?” Cowboy drawled. “I thought that’s what Rider said the contract with the cult was for?”
“Rider was sure it was guns. At least it was when he was dealing with the Klan—it was all about arms. The Klan was selling them on and taking a cut.”
“His fucking twin,” Hush spat. “He changed the arrangement, didn’t he? When Rider was locked up in cult prison?”
“Think so,” Tanner said after a few seconds of silence.
“Then what the fuck are they dealing? What was Judah giving them if not Israeli guns?”

Damnable Grace by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Best Hades Hangman book to date!!
I absolutely love this series and I can honestly say that Damnable Grace is by far my favorite. These characters AK and Phebe have taken my heart and filled it with so much love for them. They both are damaged and have both lived through their own hell but together they are free. Their story is gritty, emotional and everything you are looking for in a Tillie Cole book.
I love that we get to visit with the other Hangmen also. These guys that we have grown to love never cease to amaze me with their brotherhood and devotion to each other. I absolutely can not wait for the next book. If you haven't met and fell in love with this series you are truly missing out!

Provocative (White Lies Book One) by Lisa Renee Jones Release Date: April 18th Genre: Contemporary Romance
Book one in the sexy and intense new White Lies duet by Lisa Renee Jones!
There are those moments in life that are provocative in their very existences, that embed in our minds forever, and sometimes our very souls. They change us, mold us, maybe even save save us. But some are darker, dangerous. If we allow them to, they control us. Seduce us. Quite possibly even destroy us.
The moment I walked into Sonoma’s Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard and made eye contact with Faith Winter for the first time was one of those moments. Provocative because I know at least one of her secrets, of which, I suspect she has many. Provocative because she believes I was a stranger to her when we met, but I am not. Provocative because I sought her out, with no intention of touching her. But now I have. Now I want her. Now I have to have her. But that changes nothing. It doesn’t change why I came for her.

SYNOPSIS:It has only been a few months since humanity has found out about the shifters that live in their midst. When the New Alliance leadership asks Eric King to join Alpha Squad, a joint taskforce supposed to promote cooperation between the shifters and human authorities, his loyalty to the cause doesn’t give him any choice but to agree. But is the squad actually supposed to be relevant, or is it just an eyewash, set up by the new Secretary for Shifter Affairs to make himself look good? And how is he going to concentrate on his training, when his inner bear is insisting that the squad leader is his true mate? Major Janine Williams is not at all pleased when she is ordered to set up Alpha Squad. The initiative is just a gimmick, meant to pacify the shifter community, plus none of her male colleagues had wanted the job. But when she starts getting to know her team, especially tough East London bear shifter, Eric, she starts to wonder if perhaps it will be possible to make this task force a success, so long as everyone works together. And so long as she can manage to keep her relationship with Eric strictly professional..

Ashes to ashes.
Dust to dust.
And all that fucking shit.
I had killed.
I had sacrificed.
The innocent and the corrupt. I knew blood and I knew violence.
Never imagining I could know love too.
Mia Ryder was a woman to love. To cherish. To fucking claim. Now, forever, and every day in between.
If there was anyone Iâd go to Hell and back for, it was her.
Even if meant, going to war withâ¦
My fucking brother.
âTell me you donât love me. Tell me you donât wish it were me who held you in their arms. Tell me you donât want me to kiss you right now, yeah? Touch you, take you to our bed and make sweet fuckinâ love to all night long, until there isnât an inch of your skin I havenât kissed, licked, or touched. Tell me you donât feel me,â he whimpered, placing his hand over my heart, âhere.âWaiting for me to say the magic words that would set us both free.
âCreed,â I whispered in a voice I didnât recognize. Trying to reel in my feelings, hide the fact that he still had an effect on me.
After all this time.
âTell me any of that, and I swear Iâll leave you alone, cuz at the end of the day⦠All I ever wanted was for you to be happy, and if thatâs not witâ me, then at least I have the memory of the love of my fuckinâ life.â He placed his forehead on mine, bringing his hands up to frame my face again. âSay the words, babe,â he groaned in a tone that made my stomach flutter and my body warm. His mouth so close to mine that I could feel him breathe on me. The smell of cigarettes and mint took over my senses. As if he was testing me, he licked his lips slowly, provoking me. Proving that he was right. I shut my eyes. I had to. The realization was too hard to admit, and I knew he could see it in my gaze.
He knew me. âCreed,â I panted, my breathing mimicking his. âPleaseâ¦â
âPlease what, baby?â he rasped as if he was hanging on by a thread.

Genre - Romantic Suspense Standalone

An assassin . . . that’s what I am.
I’m Wade Chandler by day and a killer at night. I get the job done no matter the cost. Not only do I hunt people for the FBI, but I’m also the owner of Chandler Enterprises, one of the top companies in the southeast.
When Brina Carmichael – daughter of the former president – wants my business advice, it’s hard to resist her long legs and seductive smile. One thing leads to another and now I’m in too deep.
I can’t let her know what I am, but I’ve never wanted a woman the way I want her.
However, harboring secrets comes at a price and I have a feeling she’s keeping some of her own. Especially, when my next mission leads me straight to her. Turns out she’s not who I thought she was.
Standing at the receptionist’s desk, I waited to hear the verdict. Would Wade see me or not? When I heard his answer, I breathed a sigh of relief. I didn’t want my stupidity to ruin my shop’s chances at success. The receptionist smiled up at me. “You can go back now, Ms. Carmichael. His office is the last one on the right.”“Thank you,” I replied with a smile of my own.Pulse pounding in my ears, I walked down the hall to Wade’s office. I had a folder of my designs tucked under my arm. Hopefully, it’d be enough to persuade him. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on his door.“Come in,” he called out, his voice making me shiver.I hated how this man made me feel like that. It’d been over a week and I could still feel the way he touched every square inch of my body. I wasn’t a needy woman, but he made me want more. This is business, nothing more.Head held high, I opened the door. Wade was at his desk, leaning back in his chair, all cool and confident, dressed in his expensive suit with his brown hair perfectly coifed. Definitely not a bundle of nerves, like I was. “Mr. Chandler, it’s good to see you again.”His brows lifted. “Likewise. Although I’d probably believe it more if you hadn’t run out on me the last time.”And there it was.Biting my lip, I shut the door. I couldn’t tell if he was angry, or didn’t care. “Thought I’d save you the trouble,” I confessed. “We both had a little too much to drink that night. And let’s face it, it was either going to be me or you. And I prefer not to be the one left behind.”“Neither do I,” he said in all seriousness. “So, what brings you here?”

Wonderful! Target is exciting, sexy and full of mystery. I'm absolutely loving this series. It has everything you're looking for in a great book. Brina and Wade are great characters, her the daughter of a past president and him an high ranking assassin. Wade stole my heart, he is major book boyfriend material. He's fierce, ruthless, sweet and would do anything for those he loves. Excellent read with a great story line and wonderful writing. So excited for the next book.
