Over the Edge by C.D. Reiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Perfect ending! Even though I’m sad to see this series end, the author has giving us the perfect ending. Greyson and Caden have stolen our hearts with this gritty story. Its original and will have you thinking messed up thoughts. Greyson is convinced she’s going to save her husband. In order to save him, she must be saved herself and Caden is just the one to do it. These two are devoted and totally in love with each other. They will do anything for the other. This is the best series I’ve read in a while. It’s so messed with beautiful characters. I couldn’t get enough and will definitely re-read it. I highly recommend it. On the Edge by C.D. Reiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh. My. God. This series has totally consumed me. It’s riveting, it’s in your face and gritty. I am so involved in Caden and Greyson’s marriage that I feel like I’m married to them too. I don’t want to give anything away but my heart goes out to Greyson. I don’t see how she does it and gosh Caden I am so in love with him, all of him, that I want to grab him and hold him forever. This is one of those series that will pull you in and slap the crap out of you. Yeah read it and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Now these end with cliffhangers so if you can’t handle those don’t cry about it later, you were warned. Pull your big girl panties up, sit back and enjoy. Rough Edge by C.D. Reiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars I’m totally speechless... this is one of those books different people will get different things from. It’s devastating, edgy and absolutely beautiful. Caden and Greyson are so in love with each other that their story is painful to read. I can’t wait to dig in further with these two and see what is hidden. If you’ve read this authors work before you know she pushes boundaries and this is right up there with her other masterpieces. It’s sinful, hot and pushes all kinds of buttons that will have you screaming for more. I’m so excited to see where we go next. As a world-class dancer at the height of her career, Emily enjoys all the perks of fame—the parties, the glamour, the tours—but they’ve also attracted the attention of a dangerous ex-boyfriend hell-bent on getting her back. Enter Carter Kincaid, a bodyguard so crushingly sexy he takes her breath away. Carter’s the best in the business, and Emily is—professionally speaking—off-limits. But when it comes to stirring his desires, she’s making all the right moves. What’s happening between them is so hot it could get both of them burned. As Emily’s past gets closer, Carter is willing to break every rule of the job to save her. But letting Emily into his life also means letting her in on the secrets of his own past. For these two, falling in love could be the greatest risk of all. Excerpt:"Are we going to have another 'about last night' conversation?" I asked. "If you want to." What did I want to say? Everything. but mostly, I wanted to tell him how much I liked kissing him and how conflicted I was. I wanted to demand answers immediately and give him space at the same time. All the words tried to jump forward, but when he stopped at a light, our eyes met in the rearview. The words landed in a tangle, unsaid. He tapped the steering wheel when he turned it, using both hands for the first time since I'd gotten in. "Hey," I said. "Yeah?" He briefly looked at me in the mirror. "What happened to your hand?" "Burn." he brushed his left hand over the bandage at the top of his palm, right where you'd burn it if you were picking up a hot pot handle. He caught my eye in the rearview again. I didn't know if I believed him. "What were you cooking?" "Breakfast." "And you still went to get a Danish?" He rubbed his upper lip with his left hand and tapped the wheel with the bandaged one. "I burned my eggs." Right. Hot pot. Burned hand. Smoke-filled kitchen. "You know what's funny?" I said. "The Three Stooges." "I don't know anything about you. You could live in your mother's basement." "That's just where I bury the bodies." Blatant avoidance. It had been cute before; now it was getting on my nerves. "Are you married?" "No!" He could have been lying, buy lying liars always lied. There wasn't a thing I could do about that except make sure I asked. Something was wrong. We'd kissed twice, and twice he'd shut down. I should have been the one shutting down. I was the one with all the ex-boyfriend baggage. Why was I the one who was always so willing? But there he was in the front seat, driving with both hands on the wheel, glancing at me once in a while to make sure I wasn't choking on my tongue in the back seat. Discomfort radiated out of him. Here I was with my hands in my lap thinking about ways to kiss him again. He pulled into the little lot and wedged into a space. He turned off the car, popped his seat belt, and stared at the wheel for a split second too long. I was about to open the car door myself when he turned all the way around, arm over the back of his seat, bandaged hand on the back of the passenger side. "Kissing you..." He stopped and looked at my lips so intensely I folded them back and bit them. "You're dangerous. I can't even see your lips, but I can taste them. I couldn't brush the taste of you out of my mouth this morning. Right now. The honey. I can taste it but not enough. I want to kiss you again, and I can't. I lose my shit around you. I can't do it. My job is control. Do you understand what I'm saying?" My jaw loosened, and I let my lips go. "No, I don't. I've met bodyguards before. You're a stoic bunch, but you're not all celibate. And if you think this is easy for me, you're wrong. I'm afraid too. I'm afraid you're going to get hurt because of me. last night..." I put my fingertips to my lips as if that would keep the choking sob from coming. I kept it back. "Last night he showed me he's back, and if he'll hurt me, he'll hurt you." If I thought seats would be a barrier between us, I was wrong. He launched himself between them and placed his lips on mine. Our third kiss was unexpected, uncomfortable with him stretched between front and back. I wove my fingers in his hair, giving him my mouth, and taking his. I wanted that kiss to tell him it was all right. He could lose control. He could bemore than a protector. He was as safe with me as I was with him. But I couldn't without lying to both of us. He yanked his lips away. "Trust me." He leaned his forehead against mine.Read today!Amazon US: http://amzn.to/2v4xNyS Amazon UK: http://amzn.to/2hOkbnl Amazon CA: http://amzn.to/2xiyS3Z Amazon AU: http://amzn.to/2ko5rwh Add to GoodReads: http://bit.ly/2viKciZ Start the Series of Standalones Today!Bombshell (Free in Kindle Unlimited) Amazon US: http://amzn.to/2yZp4Oc Amazon Print: http://amzn.to/2xhwnUq Audible: http://amzn.to/2xgCNDb Amazon UK: http://amzn.to/2fLLBWI Amazon CA: http://amzn.to/2fL7t4c Amazon AU: http://amzn.to/2y21FxD Add to GoodReads: http://bit.ly/2j4VfUW About the AuthorCD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Thirty days in a remote cottage, doing everything he demands. After that, he’ll sign her divorce papers and give her complete ownership of their company. THIRTY DAYS That’s how long he has to rediscover the man he once was. The Dominant Master he hid when he fell in love with her five years ago. THIRTY DAYS She wants the business they built badly enough to go to the cottage for a month. Cut off ties to the world and do his bidding. She can submit to him with her body, but her heart will never yield. She thinks this is his pathetic attempt to repair their marriage. She’s wrong.Excerpt:“Pull your skirt up.” I said it without acknowledging the possibility that she’d disobey. It felt good to use those words and that tone. To watch her eyes go to the floor. “Trust me.” I said it so low she was just within range to hear it. “Five minutes. Then we don’t have to fight over the car.” I stepped back and set my watch with a beep. It wasn’t about the car for her. The Jag was the least of her worries, but it was a tangible justification. For the downcast eyes. For the way her breathing changed. Maybe every bone in her body was vanilla. Maybe not. “Quit any time,” I said. “Just say the word.” She laid her hands on her hips. Curled her fingers. Gripped fabric. Pulled up her skirt. The tops of her thighs came into view then met at the crotch. I was hard already and made no move to hide it. She noticed and stopped moving the skirt. “Higher,” I said as if telling her how to center a picture over the couch. Higher was where it had to be. It wasn’t a request. Up it went, revealing cotton underwear in a pink so pale they were almost white. “Now what?” she asked. “How do you feel?” “Weird, Adam. Really weird.” “Why?” “Because I’m standing here with my skirt around my waist? Because you told me to? For a car, no less, which is creepy.” She was so honest. I ached for her honesty. “You’re not obeying me for an object. You’re obeying me so I do something. Take an action or don’t.” “You think that’s not weird?” “No, I don’t. And we have four minutes.” I stepped forward. Part of her discomfort was in the physical distance between us. I’d stepped away so she didn’t feel threatened, but my gaze was keeping her from relaxing. I kept my eyes on hers. I could smell her perfume and feel the shortness of her breath. “Are you turned on?” “Sex isn’t going to get me back. I’m sorry—” “Touch yourself.” Her initial shock and offense lasted only a second before she pressed her lips together and reached down, shoulders angling, hand thrusting as if checking to make sure her cunt was still there. We have hundreds of bones in our bodies, and sometimes we won’t acknowledge the preferences of the ones that scare us. “Are you wet?” “A little.” I gripped the edge of the vanity and put my lips near her cheek, millimeters from touching her. “You don’t love me anymore,” I whispered. “But I could always make you wet, and you always came for me. Like our Italy vacation. In Florence. Coming back from that club, in the little alley. Against the wall. I ripped through your underwear.” Her breathing got shallow and fast. “I fucked you in the dark, and when you came, you screamed my name so loud all the lights in the apartments went on.” “That was good.” She turned her face toward mine. When her lips nearly touched me, I pulled away just enough. “I said I wouldn’t touch you.” “I changed my mind.” I wasn’t fooled. Her arousal was talking. I owned her. She’d do whatever I told her. But I wanted something very simple. I wanted her pleasure. “Take the juice from your cunt and rub it on your clit. Make it wet.” “Adam.” “What?” “What’s come over you?” “Do it.” I felt her arm move against me. “Rub back and forth. Be consistent. One-two-one-two.” When I felt that she had it, I stepped back. She stopped. Her knees were bent slightly and her fingers had taken her cunt from the side of the crotch, not the waistband. She never ceased to surprise me. “One-two-one-two, huntress.” “Is this your way of getting back at me?” “One-two-one-two. Let me see you come. You’re so beautiful when you come. You’ve gone this far.” Her body must have been able to override her mind, because she moved her finger again, closing her eyes. Her cheeks reddened and her knees bent more deeply. “In Florence. An hour after we got to the hotel. I came so deep in you that night. I fucked you from behind with your leg up on the dresser. I wanted to thrust my whole body inside you. I loved you that much. And I gave up who I was. Last night, at the club, I remembered what I was. I was a man who was obeyed. I dominated women, and they submitted to me. The result was what you’re about to feel. Complete pleasure.” She let out a long, low groan, leaning on the vanity, twisting. I could have fucked her right then. I could have bent her over the counter and pounded her. But that wasn’t the point. No. Watching her hand move under her clothes because I commanded it. That was the point. An uh escaped her throat. Years of marriage had taught me that meant she was about to come. My watch beeped. “Time’s up,” I said. Her eyes went wide. Her hand stopped. “Thank you,” I said. “We’re done. I’ll send you the title to the car. You might want to pull your skirt down, since I can’t lock the door from the outside.” It was hard to walk away from her panting, bent frame without tasting her cunt or even seeing more of her reaction, but I turned the corner, unlocked the door, and left the bathroom.Add to GoodreadsBuy Links:iBooks: http://apple.co/2dW9o4l Amazon: http://amzn.to/2ellZAo Amazon UK: http://amzn.to/2dA3E3u Amazon Paperback: http://amzn.to/2dwsbVP Audible: http://amzn.to/2dwrtrz Nook: http://bit.ly/2dII5ga
Michelle's Review
Marriage Games by C.D. Reiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wonderful! Brilliant! Remarkable! I could go on and on. CD Reiss owns me with this book. I absolutely love her writing and this book is everything. Absolutely everything! I'm spellbound, heartbroken and totally in love with Adam and Diana. Their love, their battles, I felt them all. You have to read this! I can't wait for the next book. About the Author:CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up, she's at the well, hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. Critics have dubbed the books "poetic," "literary," and "hauntingly atmospheric," which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she's some sort of braggart who's too good to chop a cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.Amazon / Facebook / Twitter / Instagram / Website / Newsletter |
