Ultimate Vengeance by Nancy Haviland Wanted Men, #4 Publication Date: May 31, 2016 Genre: Adult, Contemporary Mafia Romance, Organized Crime Purchase: Kindle | Amazon CA | Amazon UK | Amazon AU | B&N | Kobo | iTunesSynopsis: To a young Russian girl raised to respect and fear the Bratva, gaining the attention of the impressive Sovietnik from a ruling organization was a terrifying thing. Alekzander was a dangerous temptation Sacha Urusski had no hope of resisting. Predictably, her heart was decimated and she was left bleeding…with a precious reason to go on. But when Alekzander bullies his way back into her quiet life and offers a confession that absolves him of his sins, rather than celebrate, Sacha is forced to acknowledge an alarming truth; she has now become the villain in their story. Or so she thinks. When the most damaging secret of all is revealed, her final hope dies and she’s left with no other recourse. She must run. Sixteen months ago, Alekzander Tarasov made the mistake of his life when he annihilated his relationship with his soulmate. At the time, protecting her was his only thought. Now, after attempting to live without her, his focus has changed. He wants her back where she belongs. And he’ll stop at nothing to drag his curvy angel away from her new life and so deep into his world of violence and uncertainty she’ll never find her way out again. Through a deluge of secrets and lies, disillusionment and broken faith enters a world where loyalty and trust reign. Will Alek and Sacha’s battered love be strong enough to survive? Or will it be a sense of duty that inexorably binds them together in the end?EXCERPT - No Place to Hide (Ultimate Vengeance)No. She couldn’t get Alekzander into trouble with the law simply because he’d stopped loving her and had chosen to move on without telling her first. She should. She should spill every little secret she had, not that there were many. But she never would. Despite everything, he was her daughter’s father. Then again, she thought, feeling ill, if it came down to it and she had to choose between keeping Lekzi in her life and Alekzander’s freedom, well, there was no choice. But until then… “That would not work because I was never personally aware of anything he or his family did that might have been illegal. For all I know, their intimidating reputation could have been created simply to make themselves feel special.” She saw Justin’s head turn her way but didn’t meet the look because then he’d see she was lying through her teeth. He tapped his thumbs on the steering wheel. “This may sound insensitive, but why didn’t you go back home to your family when things fell apart here?” Wishing he could drive faster, she answered honestly. “I am an only child, and, as you know, my parents are gone. But even if I had someone there, at that time, I could not afford to go home.” He frowned in confusion, so she went on, her cheeks heating. “While I was with Alekzander, I did not work, or go back to school as I had planned. When I left Russia, I dropped out of my fourth year of university,” she explained. “But I had every intention of applying to colleges here so I could finish my liberal arts degree. I had planned to go into the field of Human Resources, but, as I said, I did not.” She moved on because she could hear how defensive she was beginning to sound. “Alekzander enjoyed having me at home, and I enjoyed being there for him.” Shame coated that last bit, revealing how little she thought of the decision she’d made back then. She should never have given up her independence. She suspected that had much to do with what had happened. “So he kept you broke and dependent on him?” Justin questioned as they came out of the tunnel and traveled the relatively empty streets of Queens heading for Sunnyside. “No, of course not. He was very generous. I had credit cards and a bank account that I could use freely.” Feeling small, she wanted to add that she wasn’t a parasite, but hearing herself, she found she couldn’t. Her and Alekzander’s first real fight had been about her working to save the money she would need to return to school. He’d convinced her it wasn’t something that had to be decided right then and had quieted her protests by saying they’d discuss her education later. It had always been later. And she’d let him get away with discounting her future. Had she not been such a pushover, so eager to please him, would things have been different? “I did not use his money after things ended,” she murmured. “Why? Any other woman, especially a pregnant one, would have withdrawn a large chunk of cash—especially because as a Tarasov he could certainly afford it—and lived off it until she was back on her feet. Why didn’t you?” “Because I did not want his money. I did not want anything from him.” She shifted, grinding her teeth at the warble in her voice. It signified weakness, and that embarrassed her. “Anyway,” she said, sneaking in another common word Americans used regularly. “How could I go home when I did not have enough money to buy an airline ticket, to rent an apartment once I got there, and to live until I found a job? I could not. So I stayed here where it had already become familiar. And Lekzi and I have done fine without him. Our life is simple, but that is all we need.” She might not have two homes and a private jet, but despite having to save most of her earnings, she was providing for her daughter, and she was proud of that. When they eventually turned onto her street, she tried not to think about what it would cost her, financially and emotionally, to start over again. Another new city, no friends, no job, no place to live. And it would be so much worse this time because she was dragging her innocent daughter along, making her baby suffer for the sins of her parents… The world stilled for a split second before Sacha felt the impact of her reality hit with the force of a punch. A group of well-dressed men milled about in front of her apartment building. Two were on the sidewalk speaking with a uniformed NYPD officer while another two stood in front of the main entrance of the three-story walk-up. Oh, God. “I told you.” Her whisper was eerily accepting. “He has come for me.”#OWNYOU#MOSTDANGEROUSMANDON'T MISS THE OTHER SIZZLING BOOKS IN THE WANTED MEN SERIES, FEATURING SEXY ALPHAS AND THE WOMEN THAT CONQUER THEIR HEARTS...#FREE with #KINDLEUNLIMITED: AmazonABOUT NANCY HAVILANDNancy Haviland, author of the bestselling organized crime series, WANTED MEN, writes about her alpha mobsters and their ladies from her home near Toronto, Ontario. Hold You Against Me
Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo / Google Play / All Romance EXCERPT: Something moves me gently, constant and rhythmic like waves. I’m warm. There’s something soft curling around my arms, wrapped inside my fists. Padding beneath my cheek that smells like home. An unnatural darkness weighs down on me, keeping me from waking up—a demon’s whisper in my ear. You’re warm, you’re safe. Sleep. I remember falling asleep, so suddenly, remember drinking water that I hadn’t filled. And I remember the phone call from Amy telling me that Giovanni’s alive. Impossible. Awareness pricks my skin like a cold breeze. Wherever I am, I’m not alone. I blink rapidly, forcing my eyes open. They adjust to the darkness quickly, taking in the tinted windows on either side and the wide leather bench curving beneath me. I’m in a car. A limo, to be exact. And it’s moving. On the opposite side of the long space, a large body reclines. I can see the wide stance of his legs, the pale white of his shirt. A suit jacket tossed beside his hip. His face is hidden in the shadows of the vehicle. I was raised by the head of the Las Vegas mafia, the capo. I grew up around guns and violence, so I know when a man is armed. It’s the way he holds himself, the warning shimmering around him like a dark halo. This man is armed and extremely dangerous. Every muscle in my body tenses. My mind still swims in thick water, because I must have been drugged. He drugged me, this faceless man. Why did he take me? It won’t be anything good, that’s for sure. Even worse, I suspect this has something to do with my past, with my family. It’s messed up that I’d rather be taken by some random psycho. But at least then I’d have a chance of getting away. “Who are you?” I demand, my voice hoarse from whatever drugs they gave me. There’s a long pause, the weight of his regard as heavy as a finger trailing down my neck. “Have I really changed that much, bella, that you don’t recognize me?”

A Painful Dilemma by Lorelei Moone Scottish Werebear #5 Publication Date: May 25, 2016 Genres: Adult, Paranormal Romance, BBW
PURCHASE (#FREE with #KindleUnlimited): AmazonSynopsis: Henry Weston can’t take it anymore. Lately, his job with the Alliance seems to be less about protecting shifters from their enemies, and more about surveilling his own people and making sure they don’t break any Alliance rules. This is not what he signed up for, so it’s time for him to make a change. There’s only one problem: his mate and colleague Margaret isn’t on board at all, in fact they can’t seem to agree on anything lately. Meanwhile, Alliance leader Adrian Blacke’s new assistant, Gail McPherson is having similar trouble adjusting to her job. The ideals that made her join the Alliance don’t match up with her day-to-day reality and she yearns for something else. When the two of them meet, sparks fly, and they even start to hear each other’s thoughts, like only true mates can. But Henry already has a mate whom he wants to remain loyal to, despite their disagreements. If Henry and Gail can’t be lovers, at least they can be allies in a new cause: forming a New Alliance. What ensues is a battle between sense and emotion; loyalty and fate. This paranormal romance novella is the fifth in the Scottish Werebear series. For the best experience, readers are advised to read the series in order.EXCERPT - A PAINFUL DILEMMAHenry hadn't wanted a fight, but things had a way of escalating between him and Maggie. "Why don't you trust me anymore?" Maggie folded her arms. "Come on; it's not like that!" Henry argued, taking a step forward to rest his hand on Maggie's arm. She pulled away just in time and shook her head. "Well, there's no other explanation. First, you go on the surveillance mission on your own, then you don't even involve me in the interrogation of that prisoner you took. Tell me, what am I supposed to think?" Henry sighed. In a way, she was right. He hadn't wanted her to come along to Gartcosh to surveil Matt's house the other day. It's not that he didn't trust her, or didn't think she'd do a good job. Actually, he expected she'd do too good a job. She would have followed Blacke's orders to the letter, so they would have ended up with three prisoners, not just one. Caroline Pratt was a given, she was a Son's collaborator after all, but Maggie would have also rounded up Matt and Leah. He and Maggie had been an item for years; Henry knew how she functioned. As for the interrogation, he just couldn't risk Caroline cracking and mentioning the pictures she'd taken. Luckily, so far she seemed to hold up quite well and not said a word. "Blacke gave me the order; it's only natural that I execute it," Henry excused his decision. He had to come clean to her about what had happened, but with Maggie in the mood she was in right now, it wasn't the right time. She'd always been hot-blooded, and not particularly easy to reason with when she was ticked off. "Did Blacke tell you not to take your partner along on the job?" Maggie demanded. Henry remained quiet. Of course, he hadn't. "I didn't think so." She was hurt, obviously. And Henry couldn't blame her. But if there was one thing he had to give her credit for, she did take her work very seriously. "Look, I didn't mean to step on your toes, but I can't have you questioning my operational decisions like this. When we're on the job, I'm in charge. That's just the way things are." "Fine!" Maggie pressed her lips together. There was nothing agreeable about her body language. "Now, shall we have breakfast? Wouldn't want to be late for work." Maggie shrugged and marched out of their bedroom. Although he'd pulled the seniority card on her, this argument was far from over. Today was going to be a long day. -- For much of the day, Maggie made it a point to steer clear of Henry, which was just as well. They weren't hiding their relationship as such, but they made it a point to always stay professional at work. Henry liked to think of himself as a fair and capable leader. His agents trusted him - most of the time, in the case of Maggie - and he ensured not to give preferential treatment to his mate. Plus, bears weren't the sharing sort. They didn't wear their hearts on their sleeve like wolves seemed to do. In his unit, one's private life was just that: private. Before lunch, Henry interrogated his latest prisoner - Caroline Pratt - some more. Nothing came out of it, just as he had come to expect from most of the Sons of Domnall members. Especially those that seemed to be authority figures of some sort were especially tight-lipped. Caroline's demeanor, as well as her role in the attempted second kidnapping of Matthew Argyle, made Henry suspect she wasn't just an informant, but perhaps a faction leader. Then again, she wasn't in the loop on a great many Sons activities at all, or she might have already known who or what Matt was. Either way, it was time to close the file on her and send her and the other prisoners across to Stirling, where the Alliance Headquarters were located. Henry wrote up a sanitized version of the events leading up to Caroline's capture, whatever little details he gathered during the interrogation, and that was that. Case closed. He'd inform Blacke's people shortly. Once that was done, he grabbed a fresh sheet of paper and started to brainstorm about something else entirely. He'd had an epiphany outside Matt's house that day, but he hadn't taken the time to really think about it in depth. If he was going to set up a movement to counter Blacke's Alliance, he couldn't just wing it.DON'T MISS THE OTHER BOOKS IN THE SEXY SCOTTISH WEREBEAR SERIES!#FREE with #KINDLEUNLIMITED: AmazonABOUT LORELEI MOONELorelei Moone is an up-and-coming author of paranormal romance based in London. In early youth Hettie indulged in excessive Barbie doll play with her sisters where the complex, character-driven, twisty plot lines often went on for days and frequently involved gratuitous lava explosions, jetpack rescue missions, and very racy scenes between Babs and Ken. Over time she ditched the lava and the jetpacks. Hettie favors stories in which realistic, relatable characters must navigate fantastical, larger-than-life circumstances. She’s a sucker for sexy antiheroes, underdogs, and flawed protagonists, and she enjoys fresh spins on classic tropes with a sprinkling of satire.Amazon | Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Goodreads

They are the selfish words of an addict and they are my truth. LACEY PARRISH My name is Lacey Parrish and I have a secret, one I’ve tried to deny for a long time, one I’ve tried to spare the world from. I am a manic-depressive. Just like my dad. Some days I’m high on life. Most days I try to escape it. People think they know me, they think they see me but the truth is no one knows who I really am. No one sees the real me… a broken girl with a mind that betrays her. Except Blackie. He’s my savior, the man who silences my maker. He’s my knight in shining armor, the man who puts my life before his. He’s my leather and I’m his lace. Two broken souls that have the power to heal one another. This is our story, an unapologetic tale full of temptations. A love story called Leather and Lace. EXCERPT - BEAUTIFUL LACEI stopped off at a bodega on a corner and bought three colorful bouquets of flowers, dropped them in my saddlebags and took off to Fort Hamilton. I dreaded seeing the dead flowers at Christine’s grave and prepared myself for the guilt that would surface when I saw her name carved into the tombstone. I parked my bike off to the side and killed the engine, grabbing the flowers as I climbed the hill. Nothing could’ve prepared me for what I saw next. Nothing. I blinked to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating but as I approached Christine’s grave there was no denying the beauty kneeling before the tombstone was real. Live and in the flesh. My beautiful Lace knelt before my wife’s grave, re-arranging a fresh bouquet. My past met my present and for a second I wished for a future. Beside her laid a wilted bouquet of flowers, one I hadn’t brought there either. “Hi, it’s me again,” Lacey said, as she leaned back tucking her haunches beneath her ass. “He’ll be back soon,” she promised before her voice trailed off and the only sound became the wind blowing through the trees. “I remember you,” she said finally. “Not much, but I remember you. I was just a kid when you first came around with Blackie and well, I sort of hated you. No, that sounds horrible,” she amended. “I was envious of you. That doesn’t sound much better but it's true. I remember thinking you were pretty but then I saw him look at you and knew that wasn’t the right word to describe you. In a world full of ugly you were his beautiful. You and Blackie, it’s like you were the definition behind that saying beauty is in the eyes of the beholder because as pretty as everyone thought you were, they knew true beauty when they looked at him and watched him stare at you. You were the beautiful reflection in his eyes…the woman who made him smile. Even now that you’re gone I still envy you but I’m not sure what it is I wish for more…. for him to look at me like he used to look at you or for me to be the one that brings back that smile.” I had no words. None. She was sitting here talking to my wife, confessing her feelings for me, and I stood there invading her privacy. I should’ve made my presence known, but I remained perfectly still as my heart broke for the woman I lost and began to mend because of the girl who brought her flowers. She blew out a breath and slowly stood up, brushing dirt from her legs. “Anyway, I’m going to get going but before I do, since this will be my last visit, I wanted to ask a favor. I’m not real religious and I know I’m probably just sitting here talking to a stone but just in case the afterlife really exists, can you look out for him? I mean I know you do already. Of course you do, you’re his wife…but still, he needs an angel to watch over him,” she whispered. “Who better than you?” You. She turned around, and I silently thanked God for the sunglasses that shielded my eyes as I stared at her. Her cheeks turned red as I extended my free hand and took hers. “How long have you been standing there?” She asked, glancing down at our joined hands. “Long enough,” I said huskily, pulling her closer. “Lace.” I glanced down at the flowers she had brought and then lifted my eyes back to hers. “You brought her flowers,” I stated. “I can explain,” she started. “Just today?” “No, since you’ve been in the hospital,” she explained. “I haven’t missed a Saturday,” she whispered. I released her hand as I stared back at her for a moment then placed the flowers I was holding on top of the headstone. I ran my fingers through my hair as I paced the small area in front of Christine’s grave. “Blackie— “ I turned to her. “How’d you know?” “About a year ago, me and my dad came to visit my brother’s grave, and we saw your bike. He told me you come here every Saturday and bring her flowers,” she swallowed. “I just figured— “ “Thank you,” I cut her off, closing the distance between us and wrapping my arms around her, bringing her against my chest I bent my head, pressing my lips to her head. “Thank you,” I repeated, murmuring the words into her hair. “You’re welcome,” she said as she wrapped her arms around my waist.MEET “BLACKIE” aka #NickBennett

He’s not willing to give up the club. I’m not willing to be an old lady. But giving him up is like losing a part of myself. Love isn’t easy. Life certainly never is. The manacles he has wrapped around me will hold me to him. No matter how hard I try to run. Michelle's Review
Manacle by Bella Jewel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars Just what I've been waiting on..... Danny! He is my favorite among the children and couldn't wait for his story. Danny is next in line for the Presidency, his whole life that's all he ever wanted besides Skye. Danny and Skye have been best friends their whole lives, growing up in the MC together. He loves her and wants her there with him and the club. Skye has different plans. Seeing the hurt the club has brought to people she loves she wants out. She loves Danny but knows that the club isn't the life for her anymore. I absolutely loved this book. Skye did irritate me some but Danny made all worth while. What I didn't expect was the emotional parts of the book. Yeah I cried a couple of times. I'm not a crier but I really wanted these two to get their crap together. If you loved Bella's other MC books you have to read this one. We get to visit with the characters we love while reading a great story. Your are going to love it!
