More like a piece of mouthwatering fruit.” I bridge the small gap between us. “Mmm…like a strawberry. I bet one bite into your sweet cunt and I would be addicted to your taste.” There’s a knock on the door and Mila moves away from me. “Well…” She gulps loudly. “It looks like you’ll need to find yourself some other fruit to bite into because this strawberry has a date tonight.” She swings the door open and standing in the doorway is the anti-touch jackass from the other night at the art studio. She says goodnight and they’re both out the door as quick as he came in. “What a prick.” I sit on the couch next to Charlie.“He’s okay.” She shrugs. “He’s a good dad and makes a good living. A little stuffy, maybe…” “He told his son tag was too violent. He’s a pussy.” “Hey! Don’t be hating on pussies. They’re tougher than you think. Just ask Betty White.” I grab the remote and click on the television, giving her a side-eye. “You know…because they can take a pounding.”

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by the author but it definitely won’t be my last. I really liked it. I loved the characters Mason and Mila, she’s a single mom and he’s a sexy full of himself MMA fighter.
She’s looking for her forever and he’s looking for his next conquest. Mutual friends bring these two together and it’s explosive. Add in a cute kid and you have a wonderful story that’s both fun with a little heartbreak. Really enjoyed it.

Growing up, my parents were the embodiment of love. The perfect example of soul mates. And with that ideal I couldn't wait to find my true love.

What I didn't realize was that just because you love someone doesn't mean they are capable of loving you back.

The day I met her my entire world shifted on its axis and I knew she was the one. The problem was, how do you convince someone they are your soulmate when they don't even believe in love? There was a time I believed that love truly conquered all, but now I'm losing Faith.

My mom once said, "Love isn't concrete. It's an emotion and emotions are abstract. They change. You don't make decisions based on something abstract because if you do, you are setting yourself up for failure."

I didn't understand her words at the time. I was young and in love and if you had asked me to define what I was feeling it would have consisted of words such as affection, warmth, happiness, butterflies, happily ever after.

Now after experiencing heartbreak firsthand my definition of love is a bit different. It consists of words like messy, heartbreak, waste of time, unrealistic, fake.

Until I met him. He reminded me of all the words love felt like before my heart was broken. He wanted to show me the beauty in the abstract but all I could see was the concrete.
